# Kition Universe

> A star map of Kition, the open pro suite for AI (Apache-2.0; free software, you pay for compute). 16 kits, each a planet, all built on the Kit Harness Protocol (KHP). This file lists every planet, what it really does, the files it works with, and how an AI agent uses it.

MCP lets AI connect to tools. KHP lets AI operate professional software. Kition is the first open pro suite built on it.

## Use the kits from an AI agent (MCP)

Kition ships an MCP server for its kits. Run it over stdio against a folder, without the app open, and your agent gets tools like sheet_inspect, sheet_run and sheet_check for every kit.

The kition-kits-mcp binary comes with Kition. Without a licence key it runs in development and evaluation mode.

Every kit answers the same calls, prefixed with the kit name: <kit>_inspect, <kit>_commands, <kit>_run, <kit>_query, <kit>_batch, <kit>_check, <kit>_draft_ready, <kit>_draft_reopen. inspect and run return a rendered preview image.

- table keeps typed records next to your knowledge: fields, attachments, formulas, views and AI fields that fill themselves in. Workflows and the agent read and write the same file.

- board is an infinite canvas for diagrams, mind maps, flowcharts, sticky-note clusters and freeform sketches. The agent proposes typed changes that you accept or reject before they land.

- doc edits DOCX documents: typing, styles, fonts, paragraphs, lists, tables, pictures, headers and footers, references and review. Shapes, charts and ink work the same way as in sheet and slide.

- pdf works on pages, text, comments, forms, bookmarks, links, watermarks, redaction, measuring and accessibility. It can OCR scans into searchable text and convert to PDF/A.

- photo edits layered images: layers, masks, adjustment layers, selections, transforms, type and paint. It opens PSD and PSB files directly, and an agent can run the same commands you use.

- vector draws with shapes, paths, paint, type, alignment, effects and artboards. It opens PDF and .ai files and exports SVG, PDF, PNG, WebP, DXF, EPS and more.

- design lays out pages: pages and spreads, frames, text stories, paragraph styles, swatches and tables, all on one canvas. It is still in Preview, so expect it to change.

- An experimental HTML kit with a source editor, a shared Rust/WASM renderer and PNG output. HTML, CSS and bounded JavaScript run against the same document. Browser compatibility is still incomplete.

- film cuts video projects: sequences, tracks, clips, trims, transitions, titles and audio. It renders MP4 with progress you can stop, and "Edit in Film" never touches the original clip.

- cad draws and modifies DXF drawings: lines, arcs, splines, hatches, dimensions, layers, blocks and AutoCAD-style commands, with a command line that runs any entry. It is still in Preview.
